The Czech southern rock band Petr Bultas Band from Ústí nad Labem is once again making itself known. Bandleader Petr Bultas has called his band together once again to put together a record with songs that have been in the band’s repertoire for many decades, but still most of them have not been recorded on a regular album over the years. And that has changed now! There is a record called Tak to tu chodí, named after one of the most frequently played songs. It has appeared on the playlist of almost every one of the many Bultas concerts, whether the band played in Ústí n/L with Žlutý Pes band, at Mlejn, in Prague with Generál Lee or at a rock dance in samll village Ryjice in a run-down cultural centre with a picture of a huge deer across the wall. On the CD, however, even the Petr Bultas Band’s veterans will be surprised by previously unreleased tracks, such as the boogie Čistá duše or the bluesy Návod na použití. However, the band has also included and recorded in a new arrangement the tried-and-tested pieces Učitelská and Dej mi pokoj, released in the last century on the Whiskey&Fazole and Whiskey&Buráky compilations. Dej mi pokoj features Mike Vojnar as a guest vocalist and Vít Havlicek (Krausberry and ex-General Lee) decorated it with a wall of guitars. The Petr Bultas Band reunited in good form in 2020 and now leaves behind a record that should not be missing from any fan of the Czech southern rock scene’s collection.
