About

We are RadioDixie.
A portal and radio station broadcasting on American airwaves

In the beginning, there was sound. The sound of a cracked electric guitar, a roaring engine, a .45 caliber revolver, and a properly rough Southern dialect. RadioDixie was founded in 2013 by a few enthusiasts who fell in love with this sound. If you love it too, you’ve come to the right place!

It started with music…

Originally, we just wanted to launch an online radio station that was missing from the Czech market. A radio station with authentic American music somewhere between country and Southern rock, without commercials and unnecessary chatter. We don’t play the same old hits over and over again, we don’t play any oldies, we try to capture contemporary American music through Czech ears and mix songs so that it thumps like a fast train. In our podcast archive, you will also find a number of special programs dedicated to individual music genres. We named this radio station “Dixie” after the Confederate flag—not only as a sign of the geographical origin of the music we love so much, but also in honor of all those “rednecks” who are the subject of and inspiration for our favorite songs from the American South.
.

…continued with a unique internet project…

But when we were putting together the concept for the radio station, we realized that there was something deeper behind our love of American music. A love of America as such, a love of freedom, unrestrained movement, open space, human uniqueness. A love of a world where it is still true that people should take care of themselves, their families, their surroundings, live freely with an awareness of responsibility for their own destiny, work with all their might, and be prepared to defend their way of life, even with weapons in their hands. Although there are communities in the Czech Republic devoted to American cars, American history, American culture, etc., there is no common place where all these communities could meet, at least virtually. So we took a step from internet radio to a web portal dedicated to the USA with everything that goes with it: music, cars, motorcycles, military history, westerns, weapons, and movies. A portal where every fan of America can find a wealth of information and share their passion with people who are similar to them.

…and (so far) ended up with our own DixieGear brand merchandise.

In the fall of 2015, we tried to offer our fans, whose numbers are growing steadily (the Czech version of our website is visited by more than 50,000 readers and listeners every month), something extra. So we founded our own brand and e-shop, DixieGear – Original Redneck Outfit. We design the motifs for our T-shirts ourselves and print them on high-quality material directly in the Czech Republic. The profits from their sales allow us to run the Radiodixie.cz portal truly independently. We don’t have to flood our internet radio with advertising that no one wants to see anyway, but more importantly, we can write whatever we want and however we want on the pages of our internet magazine. Of course, it didn’t end with T-shirts. Sweatshirts, caps, patches, mugs, and lots of other fun stuff followed.

What’s next?

When we look back on the nearly ten years of our redneck circus, I have to tip my imaginary Stetson. To you, who spent your hard-earned money with us, because it’s only thanks to you that we’re still here. Together, we survived the coronavirus madness of 2020 and 2021, the first energy crisis in the fall of 2022, and the constant pressure and restrictions from social media. We’ll probably be fighting that leftist bunch on Facebook for a long time to come.
It still makes sense for us to maintain and build this little piece of normal, free world. Dixie. A place where men are men and women are women. A world where cars and motorcycles run on gasoline, every decent person can own a firearm, and say what they really think without fear. To listen to your favorite music, even if the lyrics give the powers that be a headache. To raise your children and grandchildren your way, proud of your country and what our fathers and grandfathers left us here. And to tell stories. About a world that must not disappear without a trace, even if governments, megacorporations, and gangs of activists erase it from all textbooks, libraries, and social networks. That’s why we do what we do.

Thank you for joining us on this journey for more than ten years. And get excited, because now we’re really stepping on the gas!

„Stay tuned!“
